About
ELPEN Pharmaceutical, a leading Greek pharmaceutical company in a Widening country, offers a strong industry contribution to HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-CARE-02 (reducing adverse drug reactions from multiple medications).
As a Marketing Authorisation Holder, ELPEN brings pharmacovigilance systems and real-world data from Phase IV studies, baseline characteristics plus post-treatment outcomes, in cohorts central to polypharmacy in older, multimorbid patients: respiratory (asthma/COPD), cardiovascular and urology. ELPEN markets drug classes commonly involved in multi-medication regimens, grounding real-world use cases.
Through its affiliated Athens LifeTech Park (ALTP), the group adds an early-phase clinical CRO (Phase 0 to early Phase II) with registry-powered recruitment across Greece and the EU, well suited to older patients, plus bioanalysis (LC-MS/MS, ligand-binding) for drug-level and drug–drug-interaction studies, and in-vitro/molecular support for biomarker work.
ELPEN contributes as an industry, real-world-data, pharmacovigilance and clinical-operations partner, and strengthens consortium balance through Widening-country participation. ALTP's incubator can also bring qualifying SMEs into the consortium.
