Neshima Medical develops LiFT™ (Liquid Foam Therapy), a platform for delivering therapeutics throughout the lungs or to a selected lung region.
LiFT uses shear-thinning liquid foam to carry therapeutics through narrowed or obstructed airways into distal lung regions. Our device generates the foam, incorporates the therapeutic and delivers it through a thin catheter under controlled pressure. Potential payloads include small molecules, antibodies, other biologics, regenerative cells and larger particles for sustained release.
Our preclinical work spans airway and microfluidic models, mucus-obstruction models, ex vivo pig lungs and animal studies. We bring pulmonary-delivery technology, formulation and device-engineering expertise, experimental capabilities, and clinical and scientific collaborations.
- Priority: anti-infective therapies for respiratory infections
We are building a consortium for HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-08, focusing on antimicrobial-resistant respiratory infections, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
We seek therapeutic partners with promising candidates, relevant efficacy data and an interest in joint development using local pulmonary delivery. Relevant modalities include antibodies, antimicrobial proteins and peptides, small molecules and other antibacterial or antifungal approaches.
We also welcome consortium partners contributing clinical microbiology, resistant isolates, biofilm testing, respiratory infection models, PK/PD, toxicology, manufacturing, clinical research and regulatory development. Experimental facilities and service providers undertaking substantive project work are a high priority. Neshima can coordinate the consortium or join another coordinator.
- Additional opportunity: regenerative cell therapy for COPD and IPF
We are preparing an EIC Pathfinder Open project using iPSC-derived alveolar type 2 and endothelial cells for lung regeneration.
We seek expertise in emphysema and pulmonary fibrosis models, cell therapy, engraftment, biodistribution, lung function, histopathology, cell characterization and manufacturing. A facility combining an established elastase-induced emphysema model with cell-therapy experience would be especially valuable.
Our starting team spans Israel and Belgium, so we particularly seek a partner in a third eligible country to complete the consortium’s geographic requirements. We also welcome complementary partners from Israel and Belgium.
