The Alliance of NGOs is Slovenia’s principal umbrella network for non-governmental organizations working in the field of drugs and addiction. It brings together 16 organizations whose programs span prevention, harm reduction, treatment, rehabilitation, outreach work, peer support, housing programs and social inclusion. The Alliance primarily serves a coordinating role: we align the sector, create opportunities for cooperation between practitioners, researchers and decision-makers, and channel the knowledge and needs of our members into the development of policies and services. The Alliance represents the NGO sector on the Government Commission on Drugs, participates in Slovenia’s Early Warning System on new psychoactive substances, and cooperates with the Ministry of Health, the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) and other stakeholders. Internationally, it is a member of the Drug Policy Network South East Europe and Correlation – European Harm Reduction Network.
