Virgobit GmbH

Virgobit GmbH is a digital health SME based in Münster, Germany. We use wearable devices and mobile technologies to build home-based healthcare solutions, remote services and remote patient monitoring.

We build end-to-end solutions for collecting and analysing real-world health data. Our in-house platform, Spica, already supports the full workflow and can be customised to the requirements of each project. It handles multimodal signal integration across a wide range of wearable devices, including mobile EEG, ECG, PPG wristbands, smart rings and other consumer and research-grade wearables. Beyond wearables, Spica collects objective behavioural and cognitive data through gamified mobile assessment tasks, ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and digital questionnaires. It also adds passive sensing from smartphone sensors, such as mobility, activity and phone-usage patterns. This gives a holistic, continuous picture of a person’s health in daily life. We build computational models and machine learning pipelines that turn these data streams into meaningful health metrics and digital biomarkers. Spica integrates into clinical IT using interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, openEHR, OMOP CDM).

We have applied our wearable and mobile solutions in a range of clinical research settings. Examples:

Virgobit has taken part in several successful funded projects with partners across multiple European countries. We are familiar with collaborative research, work package delivery and taking results to market.
