About

About Me and Research Expertise

I am an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Ege University, Türkiye, with a PhD from King's College London, UK.

My research focuses on regenerative medicine, stem cell biology, biomaterials and advanced cell-based therapeutic approaches, particularly for liver diseases.

My scientific expertise includes:

  • Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) and primary human hepatocytes

  • Alginate-based microencapsulation and 3D cell culture systems

  • Biomaterial–cell interactions and cell-based therapeutic development

  • Cellular metabolism, mitochondrial function and hypoxia

  • Molecular biology, transcriptomics and functional cell characterisation

  • Advanced in vitro models and new approach methodologies (NAMs)

Collaboration Opportunities

I am interested in joining or developing multidisciplinary Horizon Europe Cluster 1: Health research consortia, particularly those addressing:

  • Regenerative medicine and advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs)

  • Innovative cell-based therapies and translational medicine

  • Advanced human-relevant in vitro models and NAMs

  • Biomaterials, tissue engineering and 3D cell culture technologies

  • Innovative therapeutic approaches for liver diseases

  • Academia–industry collaboration and biotechnology innovation

What I Can Contribute

I can contribute scientific expertise in stem cell biology, biomaterial-based cell encapsulation, advanced cell culture models and experimental evaluation of cell-based therapeutic strategies.

My research experience bridges fundamental cell biology and translational applications, with particular interests in developing innovative approaches that support the advancement of human-relevant models and regenerative therapies.

Partners Sought

I welcome collaboration with universities, research institutes, hospitals, biotechnology companies and SMEs across Europe.

I am particularly interested in connecting with Horizon Europe consortium coordinators and research groups preparing proposals for the 2027 Health calls.

I look forward to exploring opportunities for collaborative research, knowledge exchange and long-term international partnerships.
