Clinical trial for assessing non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation for upper extremity neurorehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis.
COO at Skaaltec AG

About
Skaaltec AG has developed SmartVNS, a non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation platform designed specifically for patients with movement disorders (such as stroke, SCI, MS). The system provides stimulation paired with therapy relevant movements via a motion tracker worn on the affected extremity. Data generated from patient movements from the worn sensors can be used to assess features like arm usage along with the quality of those movements, providing more precise information on patient deficits.
The charging hub does all data transfer for remote monitoring as well as providing exercises designed specifically with clinical partners to help guide the patient through their rehabilitation.
The goal of this project would be to assess the efficacy of this technology - therapy paired non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation - in clinic and HOME environments.
