Quantification of RNA Modification

CEO at TAMASERV GmbH

Mainz, Germany

About

RNA modifications — the chemical marks written onto mRNA, tRNA, rRNA and small RNAs by writer, eraser and reader enzymes — regulate transcript stability, translation efficiency and decoding fidelity, so their dysregulation contributes directly to cancer, metabolic and neurological disease. In pharma research this makes them relevant on three fronts: as drug targets (inhibitors against writers/erasers such as METTL3 or FTO have entered preclinical and early clinical development), as biomarkers (modification patterns in tissue or circulating RNA are being explored for diagnosis, patient stratification and treatment response, and as engineering tools.
