About

EDI Slovensko (Eating Disorders Institute Slovakia) is a leading Slovak non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to prevention, treatment, and public understanding of Eating Disorders (ED). Our mission is to drive systemic change in how society perceives ED, body image, and dietary behaviors, grounded in the core values of professional expertise, accessibility, and a human-centered approach.

Our operations are built on three strategic pillars:

  • Direct Assistance: We provide a comprehensive support network, including specialized counseling, individual and family therapy, and group support. We operate a free HelpLine staffed by a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, nutritionists, therapeutic educators, and peer consultants.

  • Education and Awareness: We empower professionals and the public through specialized training for educators, psychologists, healthcare providers, and sports coaches. Our outreach includes workshops for parents, expert publications, and a digital community of over 30,000 members.

  • Advocacy and Innovation: We actively advocate for the sustainability of prevention programs and systemic innovations within the educational and healthcare sectors.

Each year, we directly impact over 5,000 individuals, making EDI Slovensko a key stakeholder in mental health promotion and eating disorder prevention in the region.
