About
The Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Valencian Community (Fisabio) (https://fisabio.san.gva.es/en/)) is a non-profit scientific organization whose primary purpose is to promote, facilitate, disseminate, develop, and execute scientific-technical research and biomedical innovation in the Valencian Community. Fisabio's scope of action covers the entire Valencian Community, integrating and managing R&D&I activities carried out at Fisabio-Public Health (Fisabio-SP) and Fisabio-Health Departments (Fisabio-DS).
Fisabio-DS covers 19 out of the 24 Health Departments of the Valencian Community (along with their respective reference hospitals, primary care centers, and public health centers), the Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community, and 5 Hospitals for Chronic and Long-Term Care Patients (HACLE). These centers serve more than 74% of the population of the Valencian Community.
Fisabio serves over 2000 researchers from the Valencian healthcare network, specialists involved in research and innovation projects and clinical studies managed through the Foundation. Additionally, it coordinates the Valencian Biobank Network.
