About

Edge Hill University is a multi-campus institution in North West England, with its main site in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Founded in Liverpool in 1885 as the first non-denominational teacher training college for women, it has grown from 41 students to nearly 18,000 full and part-time students across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The university operates three faculties offering over 250 courses: Arts and Sciences, Health, Social Care and Medicine, and Education. Over £350 million has been invested in facilities over 15 years, including state-of-the-art laboratories, accommodation, and a new Students' Union.

Edge Hill's research achieved world-leading status in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework, with over half rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. The university has earned recognition as University of the Year for Student Experience and holds a Green Flag award for its sustainable campus. It's committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035.
