About
The Graduate School of Development (GSD) is seeking project partners for collaboration under Horizon Europe Cluster 1 (Health), particularly within topics addressing the impacts of climate change on human health, resilience, and preparedness.
GSD is a multidisciplinary research hub dedicated to advancing knowledge on Central Asia’s social, economic, environmental, and cultural development. Bringing together expertise from the natural and environmental sciences, social and economic sciences, and the humanities, GSD offers a unique platform for integrated research on climate change and its health-related consequences.
Climate change is one of GSD’s core research priorities, with a strong focus on:

Assessing climate-related risks and vulnerabilities

Evaluating policy responses and mitigation strategies

Studying impacts on quality of life, inequality, and sustainable development

Monitoring and supporting progress toward the SDGs in Central Asia
Within Horizon Europe Cluster 1, GSD aims to contribute to projects that:

Improve understanding of the links between climate change and public health outcomes

Anticipate health risks associated with extreme weather events, water scarcity, food insecurity, and environmental degradation

Develop evidence-based adaptation and resilience strategies

Strengthen regional data systems, policy frameworks, and community engagement mechanisms
GSD offers:Regional expertise in Central Asia, including access to local research networks and communities

Experience in interdisciplinary and policy-oriented research

Strong track record in international project implementation and donor-funded programs

Capacity for data collection, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination
We are particularly interested in joining consortia as a partner contributing regional case studies, comparative research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement components.
