HORIZON-HLTH-2026-01-ENVHLTH-01
Climate change impacts on health

Consortium offer – Mechanistic expertise on climate-driven NCDs
Our team offers advanced expertise in environmental exposure assessment and mechanistic toxicology to investigate how climate-related stressors contribute to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and individual health risks. We apply omics- and effect-based methodologies (proteomics, exposomics-linked biomarkers, early-warning molecular signatures) to elucidate causal pathways linking multiple and cascading climate exposures (e.g. heat, pollution, extreme events) to biological stress responses and disease-relevant mechanisms. We support longitudinal and multiscale study design, FAIR integration of environmental and biological data, and One Health–informed interpretation to strengthen evidence for prevention, risk reduction and climate-resilient health strategies, particularly for vulnerable populations.
