About
My core research focuses on understanding how emerging digital technologies—particularly conversational AI systems such as chatbots—affect the mental health and psychosocial well-being of society. A central emphasis lies on vulnerable populations, for whom these technologies may present both opportunities (e.g., increased access to support and information) and risks (e.g., dependency, misinformation, or emotional harm). My work examines these effects through a human-centered and ethically grounded lens, aiming to inform the responsible design, evaluation, and governance of AI-mediated interactions in sensitive domains. I particular focus on topics like loneliness and depression as well as on emotional empathy or the ability to emphatize in general.
