Sports Brain Injury
Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Engineering at Loughborough University
Loughborough, United Kingdom
About
Loughborough University is the strongest in UK in sports medicine and poised to address the pressing concerns around sport-related brain injury . Capitalising on our world-class research capabilities, we aim to address the fundamental scientific questions at the interface of sports biomechanics and biophysics of brain tissue. The team would draw expertise from various disciplines by engaging with local research interest groups on concussion to addressing internationally recognised research gaps. Our research concentrates on injury mechanisms and finding from this study can be further channelled to rehabilitation and return to activity. In particular, it would influence policy and procedural developments for prevention and early intervention.
