About

We are the Multimodal Neuroimaging Laboratory at the Institute of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. Our team integrates deep anatomical and medical knowledge with cutting-edge artificial intelligence to decode the structural and morphological substrates of brain health and disease. As a research lab, we advance systems-level science that unites neurobiology, computational analysis, and real-world clinical translation. Our expertise centers on identifying and interpreting morphological signatures across the brain’s structural and functional. By applying AI tools to multimodal neuroimaging, we uncover subtle anatomical changes linked to mental health, cardiovascular conditions, personality, gender identity and aging. Our work includes AI-powered discovery of early biomarkers for depression, anxiety and cognitive decline grounded in anatomical segmentation and expert morphological validation. We further contextualize neuroimaging findings within rich exposome data including lifestyle, stress and socio-environmental factors and pioneer living lab models to co-create impactful, human-centered health tools. We serve as the essential link between computational models and biological reality—ensuring that AI and digital twin innovations reflect true anatomical and clinical foundations.
