LLMs for cancer patients

Lecturer at University of Malta

Msida, Malta

About

This project explores the use of large language models (LLMs) to support cancer patients in navigating complex healthcare systems and understanding their care pathways. By providing personalised, accessible information and guidance, the project aims to empower patients to make informed decisions, improve engagement with their care, and regain a sense of control over their health. Recognising the potential risks of misinformation, bias, and over-reliance on AI systems, the project will also examine the need for appropriate regulation and the development of robust safeguards to ensure safe, ethical, and trustworthy use in healthcare settings.
