About
Demonstrating the Innovation Potential of 100% Poppy Seed Paste in Horizon Europe 2026
We are seeking Horizon Europe 2026 project consortia interested in demonstrating novel, sustainable, and health-oriented food innovations with strong scientific, technological, and market relevance.
Our solution is a 100% roasted poppy seed paste, developed using a proprietary ultrasonic sound-wave stabilization technology that enables:
-
Extended shelf life without additives
-
Preservation of sensitive micronutrients
-
Stable texture and oil phase without emulsifiers
This innovation makes poppy seed paste a new functional food ingredient suitable for large-scale validation and demonstration within Horizon Europe projects addressing:
-
Sustainable food systems and protein diversification
-
Functional foods and nutrition for healthy ageing and bone health
-
Clean-label processing technologies
-
Valorisation of underutilised European crops
Demonstration Opportunities in Horizon Europe Projects
Within Horizon Europe 2026 calls, our technology and product can be demonstrated through:
-
Pilot-scale food processing validation using ultrasonic stabilization
-
Nutritional and bioavailability studies, with a focus on calcium, minerals, and healthy fats relevant to bone health
-
Clean-label formulation trials replacing additives or emulsifiers in spreads, bakery, and plant-based products
-
Consumer acceptance and market uptake studies across different EU regions
-
Life-cycle and sustainability assessments, highlighting poppy seed as a high-value, EU-grown crop with low processing intensity
Why 100% Poppy Seed Paste Fits Horizon Europe 2026
-
Introduces a novel functional ingredient not yet mainstream in EU food innovation
-
Aligns with Farm to Fork, Healthy Diets, and Green Deal objectives
-
Supports SME-driven deep-tech food innovation, suitable for TRL 5–8 demonstration actions
-
Enables cross-disciplinary collaboration between food technologists, nutrition researchers, health organisations, and industry partners
What We Offer to Consortia
-
Access to validated pilot-scale production technology
-
Supply of standardised 100% poppy seed paste for trials and demonstrations
-
Industrial SME partner for WP leadership or demonstration tasks
-
Strong storytelling potential for impact, dissemination, and exploitation plans
We are particularly interested in collaborating with:
-
Universities and research institutes (nutrition, food tech, health)
-
Food manufacturers and ingredient suppliers
-
Health-focused NGOs and foundations (e.g. bone health, ageing)
-
Horizon Europe coordinators seeking high-impact, demonstrable food innovations
