About
The SJD Barcelona Children's Hospital (HSJD) is a private non-profit institution with a vocation for public service. It is the largest and the most renowned maternal and children’s hospital in Spain and one of the most recognized of its category across Europe, being ranked as the third European medical Centre of its kind by volume of activity. It is dedicated to the comprehensive care of women, children, and adolescents and, today, one of the most important pediatric high specialised centers in Europe. Their assistance base on the multidisciplinary work of their professionals and on the quality research of theirs researchers.
Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu (PSSJD) is a private, not-for-profit organisation that includes a General Hospital and the SJD Mental Health Services. In the field of mental health, PSSJD is not only a healthcare provider but also hosts specialised research groups focused on mental disorders, contributing to the generation of evidence and innovation in mental health care.
The Mental Health Services comprise acute inpatient units for people with mental health problems and intellectual disabilities, as well as longer-stay units for individuals with severe mental disorders and chronic health conditions.
The General Hospital is community-based, with strong links to local stakeholders, and offers personalised, high-quality care. It provides a broad range of medical and surgical services, delivering both inpatient and outpatient care to a catchment area of approximately one million people.
