Working at the intersection of education and health promotion to break the cycle of NCDs
Professor and Deputy Director at The University of Auckland

About
Our research aims to advance equitable health and wellbeing by connecting education systems, communities, and health promotion through implementation research.
Our mission is to generate and apply evidence on how learning environments, particularly using schools as community hubs, can act as multisectoral settings for reducing risk and preventing development of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) across the life course.
Working at the intersection of health promotion and education, curriculum and assessment design, and adolescent development, our group focuses on how young people learn about complex health issues, act as change agents within their families and communities, and co-create knowledge that informs both policy and practice.
Our transdisciplinary work bridges the social and behavioural sciences, education, and public health, with a strong emphasis on health equity, Indigenous worldviews, and implementation science.
