Life Cycle Assessment can be used to map the environmental profile of NAM-based platforms and workflows, from lab-scale development to larger-scale deployment.

Life Cycle Costing complements LCA by tracking all relevant costs over the life cycle of NAM platforms, including equipment, maintenance, reagents, data management, training and end-of-life handling.

Techno-Economic Assessment connects engineering performance and scale-up pathways with cost and value creation.

Social Life Cycle Assessment can be used to examine social and ethical implications along the value chains of NAM platforms, including working conditions in labs and manufacturing, animal welfare gains from reduced in vivo testing, access to new tools across regions and institutions, and public and professional trust.

Circularity assessments focus on material and resource flows in NAM-related equipment and processes, such as microfluidic devices, bioreactors, single-use plastics, electronics and data infrastructure.
