Microbiome-driven technologies and platforms

About

Platforms and technologies that map microbiota and reveal its function:

High-throughput quantitative metagenomics (WGS): deep strain-level profiling with functional annotation, supported by expert biostatistics and bioinformatics.
Gut Fermenter System: a physiologically relevant ex vivo gut model that simulates human intestinal conditions for assessing product (food extracts, functional ingredients, biotics, drugs, pathogens)(safety and efficacy)-microbiota (composition and metabolism) interactions.
Functional Cell-Based Screening: reporter assays to investigate effects of products on gut barrier integrity, immune modulation, oxidative stress, and metabolism—facilitating mechanistic studies.
The French Gut Database: a large-scale cohort (target: 100,000 microbial profiles; 10,000 sequenced to date) with linked dietary and clinical metadata. It provides a powerful resource for biomarker discovery, patient/nutrition stratification, microbial derived therapeutics identification and testing across both healthy and those with metabolic, digestive, cardiovascular, or inflammatory conditions.
