Scientific partner for EU health consortia: imaging, neuro, cancer, biomarkers and nanomedicine

Tenured Scientist and Principal Investigator at CSIC - Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas

Madrid, Spain

About

We are a biomedical research group at the Sols-Morreale Biomedical Research Institute (IIBM), a joint CSIC–Universidad Autónoma de Madrid centre, interested in joining existing or emerging European collaborative projects as a scientific partner.

Our main areas of expertise include:

• Quantitative preclinical MRI and MRS, molecular imaging and longitudinal in vivo phenotyping.
• Preclinical neuroimaging, including diffusion MRI, DTI, functional MRI, resting-state fMRI, functional connectivity, brain metabolism and cerebral oxygenation.
• Neuro-oncology and cancer research, particularly glioblastoma, tumour metabolism, hypoxia, the tumour microenvironment, immune checkpoints, immunotherapy and treatment response.
• Biomarker discovery and validation through the integration of non-invasive imaging with molecular, histological and ex vivo data.
• Design, synthesis, physicochemical characterisation and in vivo evaluation of MRI contrast agents, molecular imaging probes, nanoparticles and theranostic systems.
• Multimodal and computational approaches, including PET/MRI, radiomics, mass spectrometry imaging, spatial molecular data and AI-assisted biomedical image analysis.

We can contribute to experimental design, preclinical validation, longitudinal disease monitoring, imaging biomarker development, treatment-response assessment, mechanistic studies and multimodal data integration.

We are particularly interested in Horizon Europe, IHI, EU Mission Cancer and European Partnership projects involving neuroscience, neurological disorders, cancer, inflammation, immunotherapy, personalised medicine, nanomedicine, advanced diagnostics, molecular imaging and biomarker development.

We are available to contribute to or lead focused scientific tasks and work packages. We are currently seeking participation as a scientific partner rather than overall proposal coordination.

We would welcome contacts from clinical, biological, immunology, nanomedicine, computational, data science and advanced preclinical model groups developing collaborative European proposals.
