About me

With 30 years of experience in the subsurface reservoir engineering field developing Machine Learning based solutions in the fields of reservoir and fluid behavior simulation.

I have expertise in developing and evaluating subsurface aspects of CCS projects, have acted as a consultant for HEREMA, the Greek competent authority for CCS, worked for the development of an Atlas of the CO2 storage sites onshore and offshore Greece and have given I have given various invited lectures in the CCS subsurface engineering context.

I have been working as an acting consultant to develop AI based solutions for reservoir production, reservoir fluids, thermodynamics and EoS modeling. I have worked on various projects worldwide with Schlumberger, ADNOC, Exxon Mobile, Fluidsdata, Petroleum Experts and Kappa Engineering. PVT Express, Vx flowmeter and Compo++ are some of them.

Currently, I am serving as a Professor in Reservoir Engineering, at the reputed National Technical University of Athens at the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, Greece. My scientific research is focusing on the development of methods to accelerate and simplify reservoir simulation by means of customized Machine Learning methods. I also focus on building new techniques to achieve reliable, fully automated expoitation schedules for carbon storage and geothermal reservoirs, including wells positioning and rates. I have authored or co-authored more than 120 papers in various international journals and conferences and I hold one international patent.
