RTU is a modern, internationally recognized university. It is the only polytechnic university in Latvia and the largest university in the country, with nearly 15,000 students studying and preparing for the world of work. RTU strives to become a third-generation university that not only provides high-quality education but also conducts cutting-edge research, ensures innovation and technology transfer, and puts scientific discoveries into practice. RTU faculties offer high-quality education not only in engineering but also in the social sciences and humanities. RTU's study programs have received positive reviews from international experts and are officially accredited. RTU is continuously developing its infrastructure, building a campus on Kipsala Island. Once completed, the campus will be the most advanced center for engineering education in the Baltic region.
I am Professor Gennady Varlamov, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, and laureate of the State Prize in Science and Technology. This is the highest state award for scientific achievement in Ukraine.
After graduating with honors from the Riga Maritime College, I entered, graduated with honors, and worked for 40 years as an assistant, associate professor, professor, head of department, and for 12 years as vice-rector of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Currently, I work at the Riga Technical University in the field of "Hydrogen Technologies in Energy and Industry," and have over 300 scientific articles and publications, as well as over 30 patents in 10 countries.
We live in a wonderful time of rapid development in computer, digital, and energy technologies! These three industries actively contribute to the development of other areas of life on Earth.
The energy sector occupies a special place in this development, with renewable energy sources already actively involved, significantly improving the environmental friendliness, stability, and reliability of energy production. The new stage of civilization's development is inextricably linked to the use of hydrogen technologies, which will allow human civilization on Earth to obtain an unlimited, highly efficient energy source with high environmental performance and move to a new paradigm of "Sustainable Development in Harmony with Nature!"
