DIASOL R&D Engineering Inc. is an SME with more than 30 years of combined academic and industrial expertise in advanced materials and surface engineering. The company focuses on the development and upscaling of diamond-based technologies, with three main innovation lines:
Diamond & Cu-diamond composites for thermal management: We design and manufacture high thermal conductivity composites for advanced cooling solutions in high-performance processors, power electronics, and HPC systems. These materials address the growing need for lightweight, efficient heat dissipation technologies in semiconductors, data centers, electric mobility, and aerospace applications., Boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes for water treatment: DIASOL develops and integrates BDD electrodes into electrochemical oxidation modules to provide sustainable removal of persistent organic pollutants (PFAS, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, pathogens). Our goal is to deliver compact, energy-efficient systems for industrial, municipal, and off-grid water treatment., Protective coatings for bipolar plates in fuel cells and electrolyzers: We develop advanced PVD/CVD-based coating technologies to enhance corrosion resistance, conductivity, and lifetime of bipolar plates, contributing to more efficient and durable hydrogen energy systems.
DIASOL combines lab-scale expertise with pilot-scale manufacturing capacity, offering tailor-made coating, CVD/PVD deposition, and composite material design. DIASOL actively seeks to participate in European and international RDI programmes (Eureka, Water4All, CETPartnership) and is looking for partnerships and projects to demonstrate and scale these technologies.
I am Semih Öncel, a materials scientist and entrepreneur with over 25 years of academic and industrial experience in advanced surface and materials technologies to solve engineering problems across different industries. As founder and managing director of DIASOL R&D Engineering Inc., I focus on developing diamond and Cu-diamond composites for thermal management, boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes for sustainable water treatment, and protective coatings for bipolar plates in fuel cells and electrolyzers. My goal is to scale innovative materials and technologies that deliver impact in energy, environment, and next-generation electronics.
I am interested in the following CETPartnership thematic areas:
