Ajka is a small town in Hungary, whose local government is making significant efforts in energy and environmental development. Ajka is a local authority. It has a total of 28,000 inhabitants and an industrial centre.
The municipality has initiated several projects to improve the town's energy efficiency and sustainability. These include increasing the energy efficiency of buildings, modernizing street lighting with energy-saving LED lamps, and utilizing renewable energy sources such as installing solar panels.
Additionally, the Ajka local government places importance on environmental initiatives. They focus on creating and preserving green spaces, as well as greening urban transportation through municipal measures.
Ajka has a Climate Action Plan in which renewable energy and energy efficiency are very important targets. We are a committed partner in European projects (EUCF)
In cooperation with WWF we are involved in the EU LIFE ASAP project to revise the SECAP document.
These initiatives not only enhance the quality of life for the town's residents but also contribute to the long-term protection and sustainability of the environment in Ajka.
