Energy integration assessment at local/national/regional

Nicola Pardo Garcia

Scientist at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH

Vienna, Austria

About

The Competence Unit Integrated Energy Systems (IES) of the AIT Austrian Institute for Technology, Center for Energy has wide experience in modelling and developing sustainable integrated energy systems and the energy markets. Its interdisciplinary research teams combine energy markets, energy production, distribution and transmission networks together with efficient electricity and heating & cooling generation technologies as well as flexibility options (e.g. energy storage technologies, demand management) and sector coupling to contribute to the transformation of the energy system. Moreover, the IES team develops business models and their financing strategies for local energy communities to support replication and scalability.

Energy suppliers want to use flexibilities for their grid. IES is highly experienced in model-based assessment of different options (price/cost) for an efficient grid operation. IES offers simulation tools for investment decision support and gives support in electricity sector/market know-how and market analysis coupled with technical expertise.
