About
AISOFHyST seeks an industrial partner capable of developing, producing and supplying magnesium-based hydrogen-storage materials with controlled amounts of selected dopants. The partner should manufacture reproducible and compositionally homogeneous batches at different scales, ranging from a few grams for laboratory screening to approximately 50 kg for filling and validating the pilot-scale storage tank. The material should preferably be supplied in a safe, non-pyrophoric form suitable for transport, handling and integration into the storage system.
In collaboration with the research centres participating in the project, the partner will translate the most promising laboratory formulation into a scalable manufacturing process while preserving hydrogen capacity, absorption and desorption kinetics, cycling stability and compatibility with the project’s operating conditions. Its role will include process optimisation, quality control, batch-to-batch reproducibility and demonstration of the transition from laboratory preparation to pilot or industrial-scale production. Relevant manufacturing, cost, energy-consumption and environmental data should also be provided to support the project’s techno-economic and sustainability assessments.
