SONNE HANZ is a Czech innovation‑driven technology company specializing in the development and manufacturing of advanced hydrogen production systems. Our portfolio includes patented high‑voltage electrolyzers, modular hydrogen generators, containerized production units and complete hydrogen‑to‑power solutions designed for industrial, municipal, mobility and long‑term energy storage applications.
Our core technology is based on the VV05TOS and DOMAGEN 5H2 electrolyzer platforms — proprietary, patent‑protected systems engineered for high efficiency, long lifetime and exceptional gas purity. Unlike conventional PEM electrolyzers operating at ~2 V per cell, our design utilizes a radically different high‑voltage architecture (up to 44 V per cell), enabling superior efficiency, reduced internal losses and stable long‑term operation. The separation membrane is replaced by a solid TiO₂ ceramic interface, providing extreme durability, resistance to pressure shocks and significantly longer service life.
The electrolyzers achieve hydrogen purity above 99.99 %, with optional molecular‑sieve finishing and freeze‑drying modules reaching 5.8 quality class. Integrated internal cooling eliminates the need for circulating electrolyte pumps, reducing maintenance and improving operational stability. The system prevents micro‑bubble formation on electrodes through capacitive stabilization, improving conductivity and enabling efficiency levels unattainable in conventional systems.
SONNE HANZ develops modular systems ranging from small laboratory units to multi‑megawatt hydrogen production plants. Our flagship VKJ1000/GEN container system integrates up to 200 VV05TOS generators, producing more than 17 kg of hydrogen per hour at 100 % load. The unit includes DEMI water treatment, multi‑stage safety systems, EX‑rated ventilation, inertization modules, high‑pressure compression (80–300 bar), PLC‑based control, remote monitoring and full gas‑quality analytics.
The technology is designed for flexible integration with renewable energy sources. Surplus photovoltaic power can be converted into hydrogen, used for night‑time electricity generation, stored as methane for long‑term seasonal energy buffering, or supplied to mobility applications. Our systems support hydrogen refueling infrastructure for passenger vehicles, heavy‑duty trucks, aviation and future aerospace applications.
SONNE HANZ offers full manufacturing licenses for the DOMAGEN 5H2 platform, including complete DWG documentation, production know‑how, training, quality audits and long‑term technical support. Licensed partners gain access to a scalable, cost‑efficient hydrogen technology with significantly lower production costs, long lifetime (>60,000 h), minimal maintenance requirements and strong economic performance. Typical ROI ranges from 3 to 6 years depending on system size and hydrogen market price.
