Leader in special assemblies, Non-Destructive Tests (NDT) and Destructive Tests (DT) seeking consortia
Projects Portfolio Manager, Research and Innovation, Partnerships at Institut de Soudure Groupe

About
Institut de Soudure Groupe (ISG) is a French Research & Technology Organisation (~1,200 employees, 100+ R&D staff, Carnot Icéel member) with over a century of expertise in joining and inspection technologies.
Manufacturing & repair: WAAM/DED-LB (wire arc and laser additive manufacturing), Friction Stir Welding, Wire Laser Welding, cobotics with adaptive real-time process control, and thermoplastic welding (ISW patented process for composites). Our adaptive WAAM cell covers component fabrication, obsolete-part reconstruction, and in-situ repair - directly relevant to clean energy equipment lifecycle management.
Inspection & qualification: Non-Destructive Testing across all conditions including cryogenic environments (down to 20–28 K, targeting LH2 storage), Destructive Testing, digital radiography & film digitisation, gammagraphy, and weld procedure qualification (DMOS/WPS generation). IS holds COFRAC accreditations and provides qualification support for novel energy components.
Structural Health Monitoring: guided waves, acoustic emission, and embedded sensing for long-term in-service monitoring of structures in renewable energy (wind, offshore) and hydrogen infrastructure.
Industrial AI & digitalisation: AI-assisted weld parameter optimisation, generative reconstruction from 3D scan data, and intelligent QMOS/WPS document generation.
IS is active across aerospace, automotive, rail, and renewable energy sectors, and has participated in Horizon Europe, RFCS, Clean Aviation, and Carnot programmes. We are looking for consortia developing projects on clean energy manufacturing, hydrogen (production, storage, distribution), offshore/onshore wind, or grid infrastructure - where our competencies in joining, inspection, monitoring and AI can contribute from TRL 3 to TRL 7
