Gas turbines on hydrogen or other green fuels
About
Siemens Energy offers a wide range of gas turbine models with different sizes and intended applications. Starting at 2MW ranging all the way up to around 600MW. With applications in power generation including combined heat and power, mechanical drive (compressors) or industrial use cases.
The operational and fuel flexibility aspect of gas turbines makes them interesting regarding decarbonization of energy systems. Both when it comes to decarbonization of the gas turbine itself, but also that they can tackle the role as an enabler for larger portions of renewables in our energy systems. The same aspects also makes gas turbines a vital part for resilient energy systems.
Siemens Energy is interested in partnerships with projects to showcase the utilization of different sustainable fuels in our gas turbines. Hydrogen, methanol, ethanol or ammonia is of particular interest. The projects could range from smaller feasibility studies with small scale combustion testing up to full scale pilot demonstrations.
