Hydrogen and synthetic fuel production
About
Activities include:
1. The development of components for various applications (PEMFCs, PEM-electrolysers). Research focuses on the synthesis and complete physicochemical and surface characterization of functionalized carbon allotropes, Pt or Ir- based electrocatalysts, non-PGM electrocatalysts and electrodes.
2. Liquid (RRDE) and solid-state electrochemistry including building of the experimental setups, assembly of the cells (half or full cells) and complete electrochemical evaluation of performance, operational phenomena and interfaces.
3. Design, construction and testing of separate or integrated modules, such as PEMFCs and PEM electrolysis stacks ranging between 200-1500 W. High pressure PEM electrolysis has been developed producing H2 under pressure at 80-100 bar.
