About

The Meager Creek Development Corporation, a subsidiary of Terrador Energy Inc is planning a geothermal power project on the Mt Meager Volcanic Complex in British Columbia. The project is currently awaiting a power purchase agreement (PPA) from BC Hydro for adding 32 MWe non-emitting baseload power to the BC power grid by drilling up to 8 development wells into a 240deg C hot water reserve in naturally fractured granodiorite at a Measured Depth of approximately 2600mMD and a True Vertical Depth of 1600mTVD. The project area has been fully delineated, geologically mapped and production tested and is thus ready for commercial development, pending the PPA. The planned drilling start date is Q4 2026.

After the initial development, Terrador Energy has identified an opportunity for an Enhanced Geothermal System development in strata below the planned commercial horizon. Water in formations at temperatures of 400deg C and higher may be present at depths of 4000mMD. This Super-Hot Rock (SHR) Geothermal opportunity would have international interest to the Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP).

We believe there may be member countries and companies looking to test their EGS Drilling, Completion and Production technologies within Canada.  MCDC has the living laboratory.
