Circular Biorefineries and Waste-to-Value Solutions for Sustainable Urban Transitions

Lisandra Rocha-Meneses

Professor at Estonian University of Life Sciences

Tartu, Estonia

About

My expertise includes biorefineries, biomass valorisation, biofuels, process integration, zero-waste approaches, and the production of value-added products from renewable resources and residual biomass. I am particularly interested in projects that transform urban, agricultural, food-system, forestry, or industrial biogenic residues into useful products, energy carriers, materials, and circular resource streams.

I welcome collaboration with universities, research institutes, municipalities, public authorities, utilities, waste-management companies, technology providers, SMEs, NGOs, and community organisations. Partnerships combining technical innovation with urban planning, policy, social science, participatory approaches, and real-world demonstration are especially welcome.

My contribution can include research leadership and proposal development in biomass conversion, bioresource recovery, biorefinery design, process integration, sustainable resource management, circularity assessment, and the environmental evaluation of waste-to-value systems. I am open to joining an existing consortium or co-developing a new proposal.
