The extraction of lignin from hazelnut shell biomass using the organosolv process is an increasingly prominent research area in sustainable materials science and green chemistry. This advanced valorization approach offers an efficient and environmentally friendly route for converting agricultural residues into high-purity, functional, and highly reactive lignin fractions.

Rather than being treated as a low-value by-product, the obtained lignin is considered a strategic bio-based building block with strong potential for high value-added applications.
