Energy Optimization in Industry (Partner Seeking)
About
One of the technical university team from our contacts are developing a project to help factories use less energy in their processes. The university will work with a company.
Here’s how it works:
-
Modelling: The Mechanical Engineering team will create a 1D digital model of the processes and energy cycles using real factory data.
-
Optimization: The Industrial Engineering team will use this model to find the cost effective way to run the system (for example: what time to pump water, what temperature is ideal, etc.).
The result will be a smart plan showing how the pipeline process can use less energy while still working efficiently.
This will first focus on a small unit (exp. like just the cooling system), but later it can be expanded to the whole facility. The company can also use this project as a pilot to try new solutions.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a company that can provide data from their process cycle and open to colloboration (such as pump flow rate, temperature, system usage, etc.).
Requirements:
-
The company should have at least 1 year of saved data from its system or ready to log.
-
Data must include things like flow rate, temperature, time of use, etc.
-
The company must be open to signing a confidentiality agreement (NDA) to protect its data.
-
Open to companies of any size (large, SME, startup).
-
No restriction on the sector – we are especially interested in:
-
Metal & steel
-
Food & beverage (pasteurization)
-
Glass
-
Foundry / casting
-
Automotive
-
Or any other factory that uses a cooling process
-
The partner must be from a country that is eligible for CET Partnership 2025, Module 6 (Heating and Cooling Technologies): https://cetpartnership.eu/calls/joint-call-2025/fundig-organisations
