About
The SMc (Structures and Materials for Civil Engineering) laboratory at Université Gustave Eiffel offers unique expertise and full-scale experimental capabilities to support research, innovation, and industrial needs in structural engineering.
Our facilities include a 20 MN test rig/Bench, multi-directional loading systems, servo-hydraulic actuators, and large test zones enabling quasi-static and dynamic testing of structural components, including long-span cables, mooring lines, anchoring systems, and offshore structural elements.
We conduct mechanical, fatigue, creep, and corrosion testing on materials and components under realistic environmental conditions, with the support of climate-controlled chambers and long-term monitoring systems.
SMc has a strong track record of involvement in national and European collaborative projects, especially in the field of offshore renewable energy, floating structures, and resilient infrastructure. We are open to partnerships and service provision within the CETPartnership and beyond, supporting the development, validation, and qualification of innovative solutions.
