About

Founded in 2013, DEPARK (Dokuz Eylul University Technology Development Zone) is the official technology development zone of Dokuz Eylul University (DEU) – one of Turkey’s leading research universities. Situated in Izmir, DEPARK functions as a dynamic innovation hub that bridges academia, industry, and entrepreneurship through R&D, commercialization, and knowledge transfer activities.

DEPARK operates through two main campuses: Health Campus (DEPARK Health) and Main Campus (DEPARK Alfa/Beta). The Health Campus is Turkey’s first and only Technopark dedicated exclusively to health, biotechnology, and medical technologies, while the Main Campus supports a wide array of sectors including ICT, engineering, energy, materials science, and software development.

With over 150 R&D firms and 1,500+ qualified professionals including researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs, DEPARK offers a collaborative ecosystem that nurtures innovation. The park provides incubation programs, mentorship, access to prototyping labs, IP consultancy, and national/international funding guidance. Through its dedicated Technology Transfer Office, DETTO, DEPARK supports university-industry collaboration, patent licensing, spin-off creation, and EU project development.

DEPARK and DETTO have extensive experience in international projects, including Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Enhancer and Interreg. The institution actively promotes entrepreneurship via startup acceleration, corporate innovation programs, and industry-university joint R&D initiatives.

DEPARK is recognized for its interdisciplinary approach, sector-specific clusters, and close alignment with regional innovation strategies. It plays a pivotal role in Izmir’s innovation ecosystem and serves as a gateway for EU collaborations, smart specialization, and sustainable technology development.
