About
İMMİB (Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters’ Association) is a premier, non-profit business support organization that acts as a vital "one-stop shop" between industry and academia. Representing approximately 70,000 member companies, İMMİB serves as the "central nervous system" of the Turkish industrial ecosystem, sensing real-world industry needs and translating them into R&D support and capacity-building initiatives.
Why İMMİB is an Ideal Partner for this Call:?
Specialized Technology Infrastructures (TIs) in Key Sectors İMMİB operates and
manages several specialized centers that are critical to the European industrial landscape:
• R&D and Innovation Center for Steel: Focused on enhancing the competitiveness of the steel sector.
• Chemical Technology Center: Providing dedicated R&D and innovation support for the chemicals industry.
• Aluminium and Metal Expertise: Through associations like the Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Exporters’ Association, İMMİB manages significant projects (e.g., AluVET) and technical centers. These centers represent the exact type of Technology Infrastructures the call seeks to professionalize through structured management and better industry alignment.
2. Proven Capacity for Structured Management and Talent Development With over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, COSME), İMMİB has the institutional memory to develop improved business and governance models. The organization is officially assigned as an "Information Multiplier" for EU Framework Programmes, highlighting its expertise in navigating the complexities of TI management and policy.
3. Bridging the Industry-Technology Gap A core goal of the call is the "better uptake of technology infrastructure services by industry." İMMİB’s primary role is to increase the trading capacity and competitiveness of its 70,000 members, primarily SMEs and large companies in energy-intensive sectors. By integrating these real industry needs with its technical centers, İMMİB ensures that TI services are practical, accessible, and high-impact.
4. Advanced Training and Capacity Building Through the İMMİB Academy, the organization delivers vocational and soft-skill training tailored to evolving industrial needs. Its experience in the SEE BRIDGE project—where it delivered 70 coaching and mentoring sessions on innovation and project management—demonstrates its ability to professionalize TI staff and attract management talent as envisioned in the call scope.
5. Dissemination and Transnational Collaboration İMMİB has a robust infrastructure for dissemination and exploitation, utilizing multilingual publications (e.g., Chemist, Kitchenware) and a vast network of international trade fairs to ensure TI visibility. Its active participation in large-scale consortiums (e.g., IS2H4C, CORALIS) ensures a high level of transnational collaboration and best-practice exchange.
