My organisation

Széchenyi István University is located in Győr, Hungarym at the centre of Central Europe’s “golden triangle”, midway between the capitals of Hungary, Austria and Slovakia, along highway M15, on the river Danube. The main campus of Széchenyi István University, situated on the banks of the River Danube and only minutes on foot from the city centre of Győr has over recent years undergone a massive infrastructural renewal including expansion of the University’s student accommodation and the Scientific and Technological Park. As evidence of the University’s strong commitment to internationalization, 42 English-taught programmes at all Academic levels will be on offer from September 2024. Bachelor level programmes include 10 English-taught degrees are available at Bachelors level. The Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedural Law at Széchenyi István University maintains a highly diverse and interdisciplinary research portfolio, which aptly reflects a continuous engagement with the theoretical and practical challenges of contemporary private and procedural law. Particular emphasis is placed on the theoretical and practical examination of intellectual property law, especially in relation to trademarks, patents, and copyright. These studies not only cover traditional legal institutions but also extend to emerging issues such as the metaverse, portrait trademarks, streaming technologies, and patentability questions concerning biotechnological inventions.
