Dublin, Ireland
I am a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Computer Science at University College Dublin.
My research is transdisciplinary, encompassing computing, participatory science, and transformative learning. I have contributed to several international and national projects on participatory democracy, citizen science, smart agriculture, etc. My most recent H2020 project focused on governance, exploring how citizen science could inform deliberative and participatory democracies. Currently, I am involved in an Atlantic Interreg initiative that examines marine and coastal tourism, heritage, and culture through the lens of the New European Bauhaus. In the coming months, we will launch an agroecology initiative adopting a Living Lab model for landscape investigation, co-funded under the Agroecology Partnership. I am also involved in the COST initiatives - CYANOACTION - Effective Lake management: reducing cyanobacteria by actions in the catchment and 10kLepGenomes - Utilizing 10,000 genomes of European Lepidoptera.
