About
Keith Hyams is Professor of Ethics and Political Theory at the University of Warwick, where he works on digital ethics and other topics in applied ethics. He leads projects within the Interdisciplinary Ethics Research Group, including on ethics of artificial intelligence, digital ethics, security ethics, emerging technology, climate ethics, green transitions, digital democracy, research ethics and health ethics . He has published many peer reviewed articles and has held over 30 grants as PI or Co-I, including many Horizon Europe grants. In 2015 he was awarded the Inaugural Sanders Prize in Political Philosophy, one of the most prestigious awards in his field. He has held visiting positions at the University of Toronto, the University of Louvain, and the University of Oxford. His policy work includes advising a broad range of NGOs, businesses, and government bodies, including advising the UK Cabinet Office and the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport on the set up of the UK Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation.
