My career builds on almost 30 years’ experience on International and national Research and Innovation in transport, logistics and mobility of people and goods.
Former co-chair of the Urban Logistics (from 2014 to 2024) and, since July 2024, elected as Member of Board of Director at ALICE Alliance for Logistics Innovation through collaboration in Europe. Since 2023, I have been appointed as International Data Spaces Association Ambassador.
Proudly awarded at the Transport Research Arena 2024 Competition in Dublin, as Best Senior Researcher for CrossModality "for my contribution to the digitalisation of urban logistics and planning".
My dream is to contribute in giving an impulse to the twin transition process in logistics, unchaining collaboration, and adoption of Physical Internet like solutions in a trustworthy and open ecosystem. This is what happened in discography industry evolution and massification ‘from vinyl to streaming’, where music is supplied by digital platforms, providing federated services by commodities and standard.
My beloved domains are smart urban sustainable planning in logistics, new value proposition for business and governance models for collaborative PI-like logistics, dynamic use of space and assets in cities to became a reality and scaled up logistics supply chain solutions. I am project coordinator and director of many research and implementation projects on mobility of people and goods (like the HE project DISCO https://discoprojecteu.com), and studies funded by the European Commission (e.g., Horizon Europe – including the EU Cities Mission - EIT Urban Mobility, IEE-STEER, LIFE +, CIVITAS Programme, JTI-FCH, HORIZON 2020 and former EU Framework programmes – from 4th to 7th). Passionate specialist in Physical Internet, Data Spaces, Open Logistics and e-commerce. I was the Project Manager of the EU Service Contract “New mobility patterns for European cities’ for the EU Commission.
Invited Professor on Master in Eco-mobility Management (Luiss Business School).
I am Member in the Scientific Committee of the European Parking Association Congress, and PDAYs (AIPARK initiative), as specialist on urban freight.
I am author of several R&I papers and specialistic publications in urban logistics and urban mobility innovations
