DIASOL R&D Engineering Inc. is an SME with over 30 years of combined academic and industrial expertise in advanced materials, surface engineering, and electrochemical systems. The company develops and scales diamond-based technologies and acts as a technology and RTD partner in European research and innovation projects.
A core focus of DIASOL within Horizon Europe Cluster 6 is boron-doped diamond (BDD)–based electrochemical oxidation for advanced water treatment. DIASOL develops, integrates, and is currently scaling and demonstrating end-to-end solutions, covering electrode material design, BDD coating and fabrication, reactor and module development, dedicated power supply design, system integration, and pilot-scale validation.
DIASOL designs and integrates BDD electrodes into modular electrochemical systems for the removal of emerging and persistent contaminants, including PFAS, pharmaceutical residues, pesticides, and other micropollutants. These solutions target industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, water reuse, aquaculture water quality management, and decentralized or off-grid applications, supporting zero-pollution objectives.
DIASOL’s strong background in materials science, surface engineering, corrosion resistance, electrode durability, and electrochemical system control underpins the robustness and long-term performance of its solutions in aggressive and complex water matrices, where conventional electrode, reactor, and power electronics configurations often fail. This integrated approach enables reliable operation, scalability, and cost-effective lifetime performance.
In addition to water technologies, DIASOL develops diamond and Cu-diamond composite materials for advanced thermal management and protective PVD/CVD-based coatings for bipolar plates in fuel cells and electrolyzers, strengthening its cross-cutting expertise in durability-critical materials and surface solutions.
DIASOL combines laboratory-scale R&D with pilot-scale manufacturing, system integration, dedicated power electronics, and field demonstration capabilities, offering tailor-made solutions from material development to fully functional treatment systems. The company actively seeks collaborations in European and international R&I programmes, contributing as an end-to-end technology provider and RTD partner to projects focused on clean water, pollution reduction, water reuse, aquaculture sustainability, and resilient infrastructure.
