About
FidChem is an applied research company specialising in advanced water- and waste-treatment technologies targeting complex and persistent contaminants. Our core expertise includes plasma-based advanced oxidation, selective ion-exchange systems, pre-concentration modules, and integrated purification processes engineered to remove PFAS, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, and other hard-to-treat pollutants.
A key innovation is FidChem’s low-temperature two-stage carbonisation technology: organic matrices are pre-heated at 300–400 °C to remove water, followed by the introduction of low-valent magnesium organometallics and a second heating stage. This process enables destructive PFAS breakdown at unusually low temperatures, forming environmentally safe magnesium fluoride. The method can be integrated into biochar production and significantly reduces the carbon footprint compared to high-temperature incineration.
We combine environmental engineering, electrochemistry, materials science, and process design to create scalable, regulation-compliant purification systems aligned with EU zero-pollution and water-resilience objectives. FidChem provides full-cycle innovation support — from concept and experimental design to prototype development, TRL progression, pilot deployment, and analytical validation.
FidChem collaborates with international research groups and industrial partners to co-develop breakthrough purification solutions, integrate real-time monitoring, and address emerging regulatory requirements for PFAS and other contaminants. We are actively seeking partners for Horizon Europe Cluster 6, Water4All, LIFE Environment, Innovation Fund and related R&I initiatives focused on water safety, circularity, and next-generation treatment technologies.
