Ecological Folk High School

The mission of the Ecological Folk High School (EFHS) is to promote the idea of comprehensive human development through education towards freedom, for peace, respect for life, encouraging organic food and a healthy lifestyle, raising awareness of the value and importance of organic farming for the environment and society. Activity and projects, realised by the EFHS focus on education using Grundtvigian teaching methodology. EFHS prepares for active participation in social life and helps face the challenges of modern reality. The programmes have had a wide social impact, like the development of professional and social competences of young people and validation of qualifications, particularly in the field of organic farming and agroecology (permaculture and organic gardening, climate change education, biodiversity education), and at the same time developing social skills and formation of local leaders. The success of the earlier project (majority of graduates found job within organic farming sector) proved how effective the adult education is when linked with Grundtvigian methodology.
