UNIVERSIDAD DE MURCIA

Universidad de Murcia (UMU) is a public University in the south of Spain with more than 30.000 students, and teaching and researching staff of about 2.641 people spread over 5 university campuses (21 Faculties and 4 Affiliated Centres). UMU offers top quality degrees and innovative research (54 Bachelor’s Degrees, 75 Master’s Degrees and 34 PhD Programmes). UMU is the most important research organization in the Murcia Region. There are currently 354 Research groups, 19 of them awarded as Excellence Research Groups by Fundación Séneca (Science and Technology Agency of the Murcia Region).

In 2020, UMU was awarded the "HR Excellence in Research" quality seal by the EC recognising universities and institutions that generate and support a stimulating and favourable environment for research work.

Since 2022, UMU is part of EuniWell, the European University for Well-Being, an alliance of universities seeking to improve the well-being of society and the environment in a sustainable way through joint teaching and research programmes. EUniWell was launched in 2020, in the second pilot phase of the European Commission's European Universities Initiative.
