HORIZON-CL6-2027-01-CIRCBIO-09: Increasing the circularity of bio-based sector: upcycling and recycling for higher value and environmental benefits
Professor at the University of Murcia at UNIVERSIDAD DE MURCIA
Murcia, Spain
About
This project addresses the urgent challenge of micro- and nanoplastic pollution in aquatic environments by developing magnetic micromotors fabricated from agricultural waste. These micromotors act as active water remediation agents, capable of capturing plastic contaminants and transform them into acids, through electrochemical transformation processes.
Our role will be to develop micromotors based on agricultural waste and the elimination of plastics in water. And we are looking for partners to carry out the following tasks:
-Life cycle and carbon footprint analysis
-Study of industrial value chains when introducing the products obtained to the market.
-Study of environmental and health risks and trade-offs due to treated or impregnated bio-based materials,
-Water treatment SME that provides real water and technical advice.
-An NGO to carry out a WP focused on social impact, education, and public acceptance, showing that bio-based innovation not only cleans water but also transforms lifestyles towards sustainability.
-Farmers or farmers' associations who can advise on the best waste to study in order to give it added value.
