About

The Pomology Laboratory has a long tradition of research activity in subjects related to the physiology of fruit trees and the quality of their fruits and has know-how and expertise in the molecular analysis of fruit trees and fruits with state-of-the-art systemic technologies (genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics). The aforementioned research activity has led to a significant number of publications in internationally recognized journals of high impact and to the establishment of partnerships with research institutions in Greece and abroad as well as with times in the Agri-Food sector industry. In addition, it has successfully implemented and continues to implement large-scale research projects as the coordinator. Over the last 5 years, the Pomology Laboratory of AUTH has participated as the coordinator or as a member in 40 research projects funded by national or private funds. The Laboratory has the necessary equipment as well as the required methodology to support the qualitative and molecular analyses of the fruits.
