About
SmartProtect was a Horizon 2020–funded thematic network dedicated to improving Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in vegetable production across Europe. It operated from 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2023 and was coordinated by INAGRO (Belgium).
SmartProtect aimed to accelerate the uptake of SMART IPM solutions by:
-
Enabling cross‑regional knowledge sharing among farmers, advisors, researchers and technological providers.
-
Supporting regional Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKISs) and linking them into an EU‑wide network.
-
Integrating precision farming technologies and data analytics into practical pest management approaches.
